My uncle was a world-travelling professional photographer, and my cousin is a well-known photographer, painter, and landscape artist. So, growing up in such a family, I was exposed to many stories of exploration and of local history. This led me in later years to search for places forgotten today, but still described in old books. There are many hidden gems out there in the New Hampshire woods, and I have had many interesting journeys seeking them out in an attempt to capture them in a way that does them justice. Waterfalls and craggy ridges are among my favorite subjects, especially those long forgotten by many and far off the beaten path. –Chris Whiton
