“I’m fascinated by the human-like qualities displayed by trees, such as the inclination to protect, nourish and cooperate with the trees and plants around them. This new body of work continues to explore the relationship between the over- and understory as it applies to the natural world.

I describe my interpretation of these intimate communications through the use of energetic mark making and a vibrant color palette; all signifiers of the seemingly magical interactions that take place in the natural world. My hope is that viewers are prompted to think about what we can learn from them and question our responsibility as beings that share the planet.”
