Framed watercolor by Judy Lukasik; 15″ x 19″.
Judy Lukasik paints watercolor still lifes and landscapes in the styles of naturalism and realism. She took drawing classes at Colby College, Waterville, ME, Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA and the DeCordova Museum School, Sudbury, MA. Judy also studied watercolors at the Wilmington Arts Council, Wilmington, MA. Judy is inspired by the interplay of color and light in her subjects. The exploration of this interplay, namely how light affects color, gives life to her work. Before moving to Franconia, NH, Judy showed her work at art shows on the North Shore of Boston where she won numerous awards in the category of Professional Watercolors. One of her paintings, The Field, was used by the Reading, MA Art Association to illustrate the marketing materials to promote one of their shows, and this same painting was raffled off as a door prize at the show. Judy is now inspired by the extraordinary beauty of the White Mountains.
