“This is my place of safety and refuge, not just the place where I live.  The constant changing of the seasons brings about different lights, colors, and moods that are infinitely inspiring to me. I will be walking or driving and see something so stunning like the colors, shadow and folds in the mountains that I will stop to photograph it. Then I use those images as inspiration and transform them into something more with my watercolors.”

Debbie Aldrich was born and raised in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, her first memory of painting was at a tiny easel with her mother’s hand guiding hers and a brush in hand with red paint. Her professional studies began at Colby Sawyer College, New London, New Hampshire and continued at The School of The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the The Glassell Museum School of Art, Houston, Texas. She has received numerous awards for her work, shown in group, juried and two one-person gallery shows. Her work is in individual collections all over the country. For the past 17 years her studio has been in the home that her family has lived in since 1899.
