Basket Weaving with Angela Eastman: Garlic Baskets

  • 2011 Main Street Bethlehem, NH 03574 United States (map)

This one day workshop will cover making a hanging basket, traditionally used for storing garlic or onions, from start to finish. It’s a great introduction to working with natural reed and creating a structural vessel by following a simple weaving pattern. Students will leave with their own basket to hang in the kitchen.

This workshop has a sliding scale registration fee of $45 - $80, and a $30 materials fee. Register here.

About the instructor: Angela Eastman is the artist behind Flag Mountain Studio in North Carolina. "At the heart of all of my work is a delight in materiality and a conviction that sharing the process of craft creates meaningful connections to histories of labor and place. Weaving is an underpinning of all the work that I do, whether it is making baskets and other crafts or teaching, and I love the long history of connection to place that accompanies the craft of weaving."
