Refillable Sketchbook Making Class with Dr. Adhi Two Owls

Saturday, March 7th | 10 am to 4 pm (with a lunch break)

$150 plus $100 materials fee

Materials kit includes leather, needles, drawing paper, sewing thread, birch board, and embellishments.

With spring and summer just around the corner, come and make your own leather sketchbook for taking out into the fields, forests and streets. There is nothing more enjoyable than going out into nature and drawing. Having a rugged and durable sketchbook is a great tool for every hobby and professional artist.

This is a one-day class where you will learn basic leather sewing and finishing techniques to create a 9"×12" sketchbook. The design allows for you to remove pages and refill with the paper of your choice. The front cover will have a thin birch plywood  board to work against. The book will hold up to 20 folded sheets of 300gsm paper. 

Tools will be provided.

About the instructor: Adhi Two Owls is a professional artist, educator, and craftsperson with over 30 years of experience in the visual arts. She holds a wide knowledge of traditional techniques and contemporary practices, working across media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and fine craft. Adhi teaches Art History and Drawing at SUNY Canton and leads workshops throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her approach blends technical skill, creative exploration, and thoughtful engagement with materials and ideas. She is committed to helping students develop confidence in their artistic voice through supportive and hands-on instruction.

Please note: this class requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. If minimum enrollment is not reached by Wednesday, March 4th, the class will be rescheduled, and registrations will be refunded.
