Collage, drawing, painting and mark making can be deeply exploratory ways to discover and communicate ideas and concepts. In this class, the goal isn't finished product, but a journey to know the self better. Starting with large sheets of paper and a wide variety of drawing, painting, and collaging materials, participants will each build an image that explores inner landscapes, abstract ideas and dreams.

Abstraction and Expression Through Mixed Media will be held at the Gallery at WREN on Friday, August 22nd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a break for lunch. Suitable for ages teen and up.

About the instructor: Adhi Two Owls is a professional artist, educator, and craftsperson with over 30 years of experience in the visual arts. She holds a wide knowledge of traditional techniques and contemporary practices, working across media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and fine craft. Adhi teaches Art History and Drawing at SUNY Canton and leads workshops throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her approach blends technical skill, creative exploration, and thoughtful engagement with materials and ideas. She is committed to helping students develop confidence in their artistic voice through supportive and hands-on instruction.

Please note: this class requires a minimum of 6 participants to run. If minimum enrollment is not reached by Tuesday, August 5th, the class will be rescheduled, and registrations will be refunded.
